  • The Welland Jackfish defeated the Brantford Red Sox 6-1 Wednesday night at Arnold Anderson Stadium in Brantford.
  • Dennis Dei Baning and Matt Hilderbrandt each hit homeruns for the Jackfish, who outhit Brantford 11-5
  • The Jackfish are back in action on Thursday when the host the Red Sox at 7:30 p.m. at the Welland Stadium.

Jackfish fall short in Hamilton

  • The Welland Jackfish scored a pair of runs in the ninth inning but fell short 14-13 to the Hamilton Cardinals on Sunday.
  • The Jackfish out hit the Cardinals 20-16.
  • Dane Tofteland hit a pair of home runs for the Jackfish.
  • The Jackfish are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Brantford to take on the Red Sox.

Jackfish crush Hamilton Cardinals 13-2

  • The Welland Jackfish belted out 20 hits on their way to a 13-2 win over the Hamilton Cardinals Thursday night at the Welland Stadium.
  • Brendon Dadson hit his second home run of the season while Brandon Nicholson went 3 for 4 at the plate including a double and triple.
  • The 11-10 Jackfish are back in action on Sunday when they travel to Hamilton to take on the Cardinals again.

Cole Warken leads Jackfish to win over Toronto

  • On Saturday, the Welland Jackfish were defeated by the Barrie Baycats 6-5 in front of a season high 1,234 fans at the Welland Stadium.
  • On Sunday, Cole Warken went 3-for-3 with a home run and five RBI’s in the Jackfish’s 9-8 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs at Dominico Field at Christie Pits. 
  • The Jackfish are back home on Thursday when they take on the Hamilton Cardinals at 7:30 p.m.

  • The Welland Jackfish won their third game in three nights, defeating the first place London Majors 12-5 Thursday night at the Welland Stadium.
  • Brendon Dadson and Cole Warken each hit a homerun for the Jackfish.
  • The win pushes the Jackfish to the .500 mark with a 9-9 record.
  • The Jackfish next play on Saturday at 6:05 p.m. when they host the Barrie Baycats at Welland Stadium.

  • Matt Hilderbrandt hit his league-leading fifth home run, and Chris Boatto allowed one earned run and struck out eight in a complete-game effort to carry the Welland Jackfish to an 8-2 victory in Barrie Tuesday night. 
  • On Wednesday, the Jackfish continued their winning ways by defeating the Hamilton Cardinals 7-2 at the Welland Stadium.
  • The Jackfish have a busy week, playing 5 games over 6 days.
  • Their next game is another home game on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. against the London Majors.

Welland Jackfish lose pair of games over weekend

  • The Welland Jackfish lost a pair of games over the weekend, falling 13-12 Friday night to Hamilton followed by a 14-11 loss to Kitchener Saturday afternoon.
  • The Jackfish have a busy week ahead as they travel to Barrie for a game on Tuesday and then return home for games against Hamilton on Wednesday and London on Thursday. Both games start at 7:30 p.m.
  • The team will then get a day off before playing a home game against Barrie on Saturday at 6:05 p.m. followed by a road game in Toronto on Sunday.

Welland Jackfish give up big lead to lose in extra innings

  • The Welland Jackfish gave up an 11-6 lead heading into the 9th inning and eventually lost 13-12 to the Hamilton Cardinals.
  • The Cardinals scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game at 11-11.
  • In the 10th inning, the Jackfish scored a single run but it wasn’t enough as the Cardinals would score 2 runs for the extra inning win.
  • The Jackfish are back in action on Sunday when they travel to Kitchener to take on the Panthers at 2 p.m.

Welland Jackfish defeat Barrie in extra innings

  • The Welland Jackfish fell behind three times Thursday night at home against Barrie but scored three runs in the 10th inning to defeat the Baycats 8-7.
  • Eric Marriott went 2-for-3 with two RBI’s, a stolen base and a run for Welland.
  • With the win, the Jackfish inch closer to the .500 mark and now have a 6-7 record.
  • The Jackfish are back in action Friday when they travel to Hamilton.
  • The team also announced the signing of catcher Owen Diodati of Niagara Falls, who plays for the University of Alabama and earlier this summer played in the Cape Cod League.
