River Lions travel to Edmonton for 9pm game tonight

Niagara River Lions fall to Fraser Valley

  •  The Fraser Valley Bandits defeated the Niagara River Lions 104-81 in CEBL action Tuesday night at the Abbotsford Centre.
  • Xavier Sneed led Niagara in scoring with 35 points, going 11 for 18 from the field and hitting seven of his nine attempted three-pointers.
  • Next up for the River Lions is the reigning CEBL Champions, the Edmonton Stingers (1-0) on July 2 at 9:00 p.m. EST. in Edmonton.
  • All CEBL games will be available for live streaming on the CEBL’s new OTT streaming service, CEBL+, cbcsports.ca, the free CBC Gem streaming service, the CBC Sports App for iOS and android devices, and on Twitch.

River Lions win opener in Ottawa

  • Jaylen Babb-Harrison contributed 30 points off the bench as the Niagara River Lions beat the Ottawa BlackJacks 103-78 in Thursday evening’s CEBL season opener in Ottawa.  
  • The River Lions were hot from the field all night, shooting 47% and dropping 14 three pointers as a team. 
  • The River Lions next action is Tuesday when they travel to Abbotsford, BC to take on the Fraser Valley Bandits.

River Lions announce final 2021 roster

  • The Niagara River Lions announced today the final 12-man roster for the 2021 Canadian Elite Basketball League season.
  • Trae Bell Haynes, who is currently with the Senior Men’s National Team and Phil Scrubb, who is finishing his season in France, are both expected to eventually be added to the roster.
  • The opening day roster includes four returning players, Guillaume Boucard, Kassius Robertson, Daniel Waldin-Mullings and Emmanuel Owoo-toah. 
  • New players include former Duke Blue Devil Javin DeLaurier.
  • The River Lions start the season in Ottawa tomorrow and all games can be streamed on CEBL+, CBCsports.ca and the CBC Gem App.

Niagara River Lions begin training camp tomorrow

  • The Niagara River Lions announced today the 16 players that will report to the 2021 training camp with players arriving on June 14th for medicals and testing.
  • The camp is set to take place from June 15th to the 22nd at Walker Family YMCA St. Catharines & Ridley College.
  • After eight consecutive days of training, Head Coach and General Manager Victor Raso will select the final 12-man roster.
  • The River Lions will tip off the 2021 CEBL season versus the Ottawa Blackjacks at TD Place on June 24th at 7:00pm.
  • The game will be streamed on cbcsports.ca and the CBC Gem App.
