- A unit outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared on Unit D/Stroke Unit at the Niagara Falls Hospital due to three healthcare-associated patient cases.
- Niagara Health has taken immediate steps to ensure the safety of patients, staff and physicians.
- The Niagara Health Infection Prevention and Control experts are monitoring the outbreak closely.
- While the decrease in COVID-19 cases across the province is encouraging, the virus is highly contagious and is still circulating in Niagara.
Region reminding residents of additional safety measures in place
- Niagara Region residents are being reminded of the additional safety measures that are in place in Niagara as part of section 22 orders.
- On patios, diners at one table will once again be limited to just the same household with exceptions for persons essential to physical and mental health of the party such as caregivers.
- Local restaurants and bars will be recording contact information and asking if diners have any symptoms of illness as well as confirming individuals are from the same household.
- Ontario will enter Step One of the reopening plan on Friday which allows for outdoor dining.
