Additional COVID-19 vaccination clinic dates added

  • New Niagara Region Public Health COVID-19 clinic appointments are available from July 1 – 7 in Pelham at the Meridian Community Centre.
  • As demand for appointments is expected to be very high, residents are encouraged to sign up quickly.
  • Residents age 12 or older are eligible for first doses.
  • Second dose eligibility includes those 70 or older, individuals who received their first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine at least 8 weeks ago, people with high risk conditions, high-risk health care workers, people who live in a group setting and indigenous people 12 and older and household members.
  • Appointments can be booked at Ontario.ca/bookvaccine or by calling 1-833-943-3900.

  • Merritton Centennial Arena is getting $2.2 million in upgrades, including replacing the humidification system, upgrading the lighting and sprinkler systems and replacing the arena floor and dashboards. The arena will also be brought up to accessibility standards with all of the work expected to be completed by mid-October. (St. Catharines Standard)
  • St. Catharines City Council received an update on the Canada Summer Games facilities. Construction is on time and on budget and the arena floors have now been poured. As well, construction oversight has now transitioned to the Niagara Region. (610 CKTB)
