Canada Summer Games Torch Relay program revealed

  • Details regarding the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games Torch Relay was released today.
  • The Roly McLenahan Torch’s journey will begin in late spring 2022 with a lighting ceremony in Ottawa, before heading to Montreal, where it will embark on the CSL Welland ship at St. Lambert Lock and make its way to the Niagara Region via the St. Lawrence Seaway.
  • The torch will then disembark from the ship at the Welland Canal, prior to visiting each of Niagara’s twelve municipalities before making its way to the Meridian Centre on August 6, 2022 for the Opening Ceremony.

  • Saturday night at the Meridian Centre, the Guelph Storm defeated the Niagara IceDogs 2-1 in pre-season action.
  • Pano Fimis scored for the IceDogs while Josh Rosenzweig was solid in net.
  • The IceDogs are back in action on Friday when they travel to Kitchener to take on the Rangers in another pre-season game.
  • It is being reported that IceDogs 2020 import selection Danil Gushchin has been sent to the IceDogs by the San Jose Sharks, who drafted Gushchin in 2020 in the third round.

  • The Guelph Storm scored 4 goals with less than 5 minutes remaining in the third period to defeat the Niagara IceDogs 6-4 Friday night in Guelph.
  • Declan Waddick, Rodwin Dionicio, Cameron Snow and Jonah De Simone all scored for the IceDogs.
  • Rookie Joseph Costanzo played well for the IceDogs in net.
  • The exhibition series continues tomorrow night as the IceDogs take on the Storm at the Meridian Centre at 7 p.m.

  • The Niagara IceDogs announced today that GiantFM and Country89 are now the team’s exclusive radio broadcast partners.
  • The stations will be delivering live coverage of all Niagara IceDogs’ games this season live on GiantFM and Country89.
  • Fans can also listen live by downloading the GiantFM or Country89 app or visiting the station websites.
  • The new voice of the IceDogs will be Ted Lehman.
  • Last season the IceDogs’ games were broadcasted on 610 CKTB.

Brock Sports releases COVID-19 spectator policy

  • Brock Sports has announced its updated COVID-19 spectator policy for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
  • All Brock University home games up to and including Friday, Oct. 15, are open only to Brock students, staff and faculty who are either fully vaccinated or partially vaccinated, have an approved exemption and are part of the Brock Rapid Antigen Screening Program.
  • Brock is exploring every opportunity to host spectators in the future while maintaining the health and well-being of athletes and spectators.
