St. Catharines hosting downtown concerts and Moonlight Flicks

  • A pair of concerts and a movie are helping bring the community together again.
  • The first concert takes place Friday, Sept. 3, from 5-8 p.m., featuring Joe Lapinski, with special guest Dave Clark.
  • On Friday, Sept. 10, from 5-8 p.m., The Postmen will be performing live music and the City will also have box hockey setups placed throughout the site for groups to play against friends.
  • The concerts will take place in downtown St. Catharines at 201 St. Paul St. East.
  • On Tuesday, Sept. 21 at Rennie Park, the City will host a free showing of the movie Finding Nemo.

Closure of Glendale Ave in Merritton

  • Glendale Avenue from Keele Street to Wembly Drive in St. Catharines will be closed to through traffic until Friday Sept. 3rd at 7pm.
  • The road closure is necessary to complete a rehabilitation of the existing CN rail crossing on Glendale.

City seeking new ideas for recreation programs

  • The City of St. Catharines is looking for public input, via an online survey, to help identify preferences when it comes to recreation programming and to gather new ideas for novel recreation programs.
  • The survey is an opportunity for facility users to ensure their interests and passions are reflected in recreation programming.
  • As well, the survey will allow potential instructors to pitch a potential course that they could lead.
