Niagara municipalities team up for region-wide scavenger hunt

  • Niagara municipalities are teaming up to invite residents to get out and reconnect with their neighbouring municipalities and rediscover the rich natural landscapes and history they offer.
  • Reconnect to Rediscover Niagara is an online scavenger hunt from noon, Aug. 27 to midnight, Sept. 6. hosted on the GooseChase app.
  • Using the app, participants can snap photos or videos as they explore locations and attractions across Niagara to complete missions and net points, with participants able to track their progress against others.

Downtown Block Party on Sunday in St. Catharines

  • Downtown St. Catharines will host a downtown block party on Sunday, August 22 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with musicians performing on a stage that will be located at the intersection of St. Paul St. and Queen St.
  • This event is free and limited seating will be available front stage.
  • Individuals are also encouraged to bring their own chairs or to take in the show from surrounding patios.

Pop-up clinic this Saturday in Fort Erie

  • ​Residents who need a first or second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine are invited to pop in to an upcoming Niagara Region Public Health clinic at the Crystal Ridge Community Centre in Fort Erie on Saturday, August 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • As mass immunization efforts continue, pop-up clinics like this will hopefully give even more opportunity for people in Niagara to get vaccinated.
  • This pop-up clinic will be available for walk-ins only, and both Moderna and Pfizer vaccines will be offered.  
  • Anyone 12 years and older can be vaccinated at this clinic.
