  • Fatal Accident – A serious accident occurred Thursday at approximately 5:00pm when an Impala travelling southbound on Merrittville Highway near Regional Road 20 lost control, veered into oncoming traffic and collided with an SUV. The driver of the Impala was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased. (Niagara Regional Police)
  • Municipal Development Corporation – St. Catharines council is advancing plans for a municipal development corporation, funded by a $25.7 million grant. The corporation aims to optimize the use of underutilized city-owned real estate, expedite business negotiations, and generate long-term sustainable revenue for the city, with a focus on addressing housing and affordability challenges.   • Push For Vaccinations – With a focus on vaccinations after the COVID-19 pandemic, Niagara Public Health is asking families to get their children’s vaccinations up to date as soon as possible.   • Indoor Tennis Coming – Tennis Canada has announced the expansion of the Year-Round Community Tennis Courts Program with St. Catharines being named as one of the municipalities who will be receiving $200,000 for indoor tennis courts.
