Sports Update
- IceDogs Defeat North Bay – The Niagara IceDogs lost to Mississauga 2-1 on Thursday, were crushed by Barrie 7-0 on Saturday but defeated North Bay 3-2 on Sunday. The IceDogs sit in last place in the Eastern Conference, 5 points out of the final playoff spot.
- Falcons Win Two Of Three – The St. Catharines Falcons won two out of three games last week, defeating Welland and Pelham but losing to Hamilton. The Falcons remain in third place in the Golden Horseshoe Conference, one point back of Fort Erie.
- Panthers Lose A Pair – The Pelham Panthers lost both of their games last week, falling to Caledonia 3-0 and to St. Catharines 7-3. Pelham sits in fifth place in the Golden Horseshoe Conference, one point in front of Port Colborne.
- Jackfish Sign College Standout – The Welland Jackfish have signed U.S. college standout Greyson Barrett, who played for Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth. The 23 year-old first baseman/outfielder compiled a .415 batting average with 20 home runs, 88 RBI and a 1.278 OPS in 200 collegiate at-bats in 2023. (Welland Jackfish)
