Sports Update
- IceDogs Split – The Niagara IceDogs split their games this past week, defeating Barrie 4-1 on Thursday before falling to Flint 5-2 the next night. The IceDogs sit in last place in the Eastern Conference, seven points out of a playoff spot. However, the IceDogs have been playing better as of late and have a 5-4-1-0 record in their last 10 games.
- Falcons Fall – The St. Catharines Falcons lost their lone game last week, falling to Fort Erie 6-4 on Friday. The Falcons remain in third place in the conference, two points back of second place Fort Erie.
- Panthers Defeat Welland – The Pelham Panthers defeated Welland 4-3 in Welland on Sunday in their only game last week. The Panthers are in 5th place in the Golden Horseshoe Conference, one point ahead of Port Colborne.
- Jackfish Sign Power Hitter – The Welland Jackfish have announced their second signing of the 2024 season, Torrin Vaselenak who lead the West Coast League in homeruns this past summer. Vaselenak also earned himself a spot in the 2023 WCBL All-Star Game and played four seasons for the Arkansas-Monticello Boll Weevil. (Welland Jackfish)
