  • Niagara Impact Awards – Nominations for the 2023 Niagara Impact Awards are now open. The Impact Awards recognize community members and organizations who have made significant efforts to help build a more resilient and welcoming region.  Residents are encouraged to nominate individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations who have shown community spirit while demonstrating the value of volunteerism.   • Meeting on Keefer Road Fire – The City of St. Catharines will host a community meeting about the Keefer Rd. fire in Port Weller on Wednesday, Mar 8, at 7 p.m. at the Grantham Lions Club. Community members can also watch online via the City’s YouTube page. The event will include updates from the City, the St. Catharines Fire Services, the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks and Niagara Region Public Health. (City of St. Catharines)
  • Abandoned Puppies Up For Adoption – Five puppies left in a box by the side of the road in Niagara Falls should be available for adoption by the end of the week at the Niagara Falls SPCA and Humane Society. The puppies were found abandoned in a box near the corner of Montrose and Schisler roads in Niagara Falls on Feb 21. (Niagara Falls Review)
  • Cultural Hub And Market To Open In June – Niagara Falls’ new cultural hub and market, The Exchange, is set to open in June. The $15-million facility located just behind the Niagara Falls History Museum includes a large, indoor market hall that will be used for the new farmers market and will host events such as music celebrations and lectures. The 21,000 square foot facility will also contain artist studios, an art gallery that artists can rent to display their art, multi-function civic plazas and a café. (Niagara this Week)
