Welland Jackfish defeat Barrie in extra innings
- The Welland Jackfish fell behind three times Thursday night at home against Barrie but scored three runs in the 10th inning to defeat the Baycats 8-7.
- Eric Marriott went 2-for-3 with two RBI’s, a stolen base and a run for Welland.
- With the win, the Jackfish inch closer to the .500 mark and now have a 6-7 record.
- The Jackfish are back in action Friday when they travel to Hamilton.
- The team also announced the signing of catcher Owen Diodati of Niagara Falls, who plays for the University of Alabama and earlier this summer played in the Cape Cod League.
