Niagara receives $10.5M for affordable housing
- Federal Minister Ahmed Hussen announced today that Niagara will receive $10.5 million for 41 new affordable housing units in Niagara.
- At the end of June, there were nearly 7,000 individuals and families waiting for geared-to-income housing.
- Residents who live in these units will not have to pay more than 30 per cent of their income to secure a home.
- The $10.5 million announced today will allow the Region to continue to provide critical support to those most at risk of becoming homeless.
