  • Merritton Centennial Arena is getting $2.2 million in upgrades, including replacing the humidification system, upgrading the lighting and sprinkler systems and replacing the arena floor and dashboards. The arena will also be brought up to accessibility standards with all of the work expected to be completed by mid-October. (St. Catharines Standard)
  • St. Catharines City Council received an update on the Canada Summer Games facilities. Construction is on time and on budget and the arena floors have now been poured. As well, construction oversight has now transitioned to the Niagara Region. (610 CKTB)
  • As Niagara has entered Step One of the province’s reopening plan, Niagara’s acting medical officer of health Dr. Mustafa Hirji is pushing for an enforcement blitz to ensure COVID-19 precautions are in place and being enforced at Niagara businesses. (St. Catharines Standard)
