  • Budget Approval Coming Soon – The city of St. Catharines is moving closer to approving a 2024 budget that will result in less than a 1% tax increase. While councillors will be discussing the budget again at an upcoming meeting, the budget is currently on pace for a 0.72% increase for taxpayers. (CKTB)
  • Niagara Health Recognition – Accreditation Canada has accredited Niagara Health with exemplary standing for meeting all of its required organizational practices in its commitment to ensure safe, quality care for patients and their families.   • City Hall Growing – Thorold has outgrown it’s city hall building on Schmom Parkway and will be relocating their Development Services Office to the second floor of the Thorold Seniors’ Centre on Carleton St. South. The Seniors’ Centre served as the Thorold City Hall between 1982 and 2006.   • Valentine’s Day Wedding – The City of Niagara Falls is inviting couples to tie the knot on Valentine’s Day at City Hall or the Niagara Falls History Museum. The package includes Valentine’s Day-themed decorations, a complimentary sparkling beverage toast, and a photographer. A marriage license costs $150 and the fee for the wedding ceremony is $350 (Giant FM)
