Sports Update
- IceDogs Have Successful Weekend – The Niagara IceDogs took 3 out of 4 points this week, losing to Owen Sound in OT on Friday before defeating Windsor 5-2 on Sunday. The IceDogs remain in last place in the Eastern Conference, 8 points back of the final playoff spot.
- IceDogs Trade Defenceman – On Sunday, the Niagara IceDogs traded 18 year-old defenceman Bronson Ride to North Bay for goalie Charlie Robertson, two 3rd round picks, two 4th round picks and a 9th round pick. The OHL’s trade deadline is Jan 10. (Niagara IceDogs)
- Falcons Climb To Second Place – The St. Catharines Falcons defeated Caledonia 3-1 on Friday before losing to Hamilton 4-2 on Saturday. The Falcons are now tied with Fort Erie for second place in the Golden Horseshoe Conference.
- Panthers Split Weekend – The Pelham Panthers defeated Port Colborne 3-1 on Friday but lost at home on Sunday to Fort Erie 6-2. Pelham sits in sixth place in the Golden Horseshoe Conference, one point behind fifth place Port Colborne.
