  • NOTL Budget Talks Continue – Operating budget talks continued last week at the Niagara-on-the-Lake council meeting, including plans to spend $1.8 million on new projects, initiatives and municipal employees. The corporate services budget could increase by 46.4% compared to last year and the property tax levy could rise by as much as 8.56% or $104.63 per household. (Niagara-on-the-Lake Local)
  • Dump Fees Increasing – The Niagara Region is changing their fees at Regional disposal sites effective April 1, 2023. The new fees will reflect the true cost of managing the disposed materials. (Niagara Region)
  • City Wants Province To Increase Social Housing Funding – St. Catharines City Council approved a motion to send a letter to the Ford government asking them to make a pledge to increase funding to Niagara Regional Housing. The province has asked the city to commit to building 11,000 homes but Councillor Greg Miller said the city is going to continue to struggle to address the crisis unless funding is increased. (CKTB)
