  • Zellers Opens March 23 – Zellers, inside the Hudson Bay at the Pen Centre, will open March 23. The Hudson’s Bay Company is opening Zellers stores within existing Hudson Bay locations in 25 communities across Canada. The shops will be between 8,000 – 10,000 square feet. (GiantFm)
  • Tom Jones, Sarah McLachlan Coming To Casino – More performances have been announced for the OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino, including Sarah McLachlan (May 25), Tom Jones – Ages & Stages Tour (May 28), and Deon Cole Live (July 28). Tickets for all performances go on sale Friday, Mar 17 at 10 a.m. (GiantFM)
  • Group Wants Marineland Charged – An animal rights group is calling for charges against Marineland after the death of Kiska, the parks last remaining killer whale. The group has launched a petition asking for an investigation and wants authorities to publicly release the results of the whale’s autopsy. (The River)
  • Diodati Believes New Casino Model Is Needed – A billion dollar Vegas style casino resort will be built into Etobicoke’s Casino Woodbine and Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati believes it may be time to consider a new model for Ontario casinos. Diodati said that in Las Vegas, Casino operators own the site which encourages them to reinvest into their property and build other amenities but in Ontario the government owns the casinos and has outside companies operate them. Diodati added that gaming is no longer the biggest reason people visit Vegas but instead go for entertainment, dining and other attractions. (Niagara Falls Review)
