Body found in Lake Ontario

  • Niagara Regional Police (NRPS) received a 911 call from a boater early this afternoon to report having found a body in Lake Ontario.
  • The NRPS Marine Unit responded to the Niagara-on-the-Lake location approximately 4 kms east of the Welland Canal and about 500m offshore and recovered the body of a male.
  • The body has been sent to the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto for a post-mortem and positive identification.
