St. Catharines receives funding for new trails
- On Thursday the Federal and Provincial governments announced $1.03 million in funding to the City of St. Catharines through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP).
- The ICIP funding will support the construction of 1.5 km of new trails in the city and 1 km of trail upgrades and connectivity investments.
- The funding has also freed up resources allowing the City to invest an additional $1.19 million in further active transportation projects under the 2021 Capital Budget.
- St. Catharines Mayor Walter Sendzik said that these new and improved trails will create new connections for people to access parks and public spaces.
