  • Some U.S. politicians are upset that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is keeping the land border closed from Canada to the U.S. until at least Aug 21. New York Rep. Brian Higgins says he’s infuriated and that keeping the border closed is unnecessary. (610 CKTB).
  • Distance runner Mohammed Ahmed, who is a St. Catharines Collegiate grad, and Coxswain Kristen Kit, who started rowing in St Catharines in 2002, will be competing at the Olympics in Toyko which starts this week. (Thorold News)
  • Although COVID-19 cases continue to decrease in Niagara, the Delta variant is causing cases to spike elsewhere as the number of new cases more than doubled in the past 10 days in the U.S, while England now has the most cases it has seen since January. (St. Catharines Standard)
