St. Catharines is extending their downtown street closures to include Sundays from 11am – 6pm in addition to Fridays and Saturdays from 4pm – 11pm. The street closures free up more space for pedestrians and permits restaurants to expand their patios. (Niagara this Week)
The Grape and Wine Festival will return this fall on a smaller scale. The large celebration in Montebello Park will not happen due to COVID-19 but performances will take place in the backyard space of the downtown Performing Arts Centre. (610 CKTB)
While non-Delta variant cases of COVID-19 have almost been eliminated in Ontario, the Delta variant is still a concern according to Dr. Mustafa Hirji. Many countries are seeing rising case counts of the Delta variant as it spreads more easily and is more difficult to control. (St. Catharines Standard)
