- In response to concerns with overcrowding, drinking and problem behaviours, the city of St. Catharines is instituting temporary capacity limits at its beaches effective immediately.
- Capacity limits at both Sunset Beach and Lakeside Park Beach will be implemented and security will close access when beaches have reached capacity.
- Signage will be posted at the entrance to beach neighbourhoods letting drivers know when beaches are at capacity limits and closed to new entries.
- Visitors are reminded that alcohol, smoking / vaping, barbecues, and littering are prohibited at City beaches.
- Those visiting beaches may be subject to search upon entry.
