  • Dr. Hirji, Niagara’s medical officer, is warning that it is too early to open the U.S. border. Hirji believes opening the border just as Ontario enters Step One of the reopening plan could cause complications. As well, the presence of the Delta variant which is more severe and contagious, is another reason to exercise caution. (St. Catharines Standard)
  • Niagara Health is lifting some emergency measures, as their inpatient COVID-19 activity is at its lowest since April 8th. As a result, surgeries that were postponed during the third wave are now proceeding. (610 CKTB)
  • Drivers are being asked to slow down and keep their eyes open for turtles as during nesting season it is common for turtles to be spotted on area roads. (Thorold News)
